Employee Spotlight: Savita Savita

In this month’s employee spotlight, we’re getting to know Savita Savita, formerly part of our Tier 1 Technical Support team. As part of the Customer Success division, Savita provided technical support and collaborated with FISPAN’s bank clients, addressing inquiries related to ERP errors and conducting general plug-in training

Savita graduated from Cegep de la Gaspésie et des Iles in Computer Science where she gained expertise in software programming, QA Testing, Networking, and the fundamentals of Information Technology. Prior to her time at FISPAN, Savita worked as a Technical Analyst II, working on different Virtual Reality projects and assisting clients with VR gaming issues.

Why did you choose a career in FinTech?

My decision to embark on a career in Fintech stems from a genuine fascination with the intersection of technology and finance. The dynamic nature of this field allows me to continually explore new opportunities and stay at the forefront of innovation. I am also driven by an eagerness to learn more about banking, and leveraging technology to enhance financial services.

 

In your own words, how would you describe FISPAN?

I made a significant transition from a backend position in my previous role to directly engaging with banking clients while at FISPAN. This shift provided me with invaluable exposure to the real-world intricacies of the fintech industry. The fast-paced environment at FISPAN was invigorating, and the talented and supportive colleagues around me contributed to a motivating work atmosphere. I found great satisfaction in the challenges and opportunities that came with this role, and the collaborative spirit within the team inspired me to continuously push my boundaries and contribute my best to the company’s success.

What is a typical workday like for you at FISPAN?

At FISPAN, my typical workday revolved around collaborating with clients and addressing any issues related to the plug-in. This involved providing prompt and effective solutions to ensure a seamless experience for our clients. I engaged in ongoing communication, troubleshooting and proactive support which helped maintain a robust and reliable integration. The dynamic nature of clients’ interactions kept my day varied and required adaptability to meet evolving needs. The overall focus was on delivering exceptional service and maintaining strong relationships.

 

What skills have been the most important for you so far in your career?

Adaptability and a positive attitude have been the cornerstone of my career success. The ability to adapt to changing circumstances has allowed me to thrive in diverse professional environments. Coupled with a positive attitude, my adaptability has not only helped me overcome challenges but also fostered a collaborative and motivated work environment.

 

What’s one thing you’ve learned since joining FISPAN?

When I joined FISPAN, I learned the importance of proactive client engagement. Taking the initiative to understand and address their needs not only enhances the client experience but also strengthens the overall relationship. This approach ensured that potential issues are identified and resolved efficiently, contributing to the success of the company.

 

What is a fun fact about you?

A delightful aspect of my life is my passion for painting. Whenever I find myself in need of an emotional or creative release, I turn to my canvas and brushes. The vibrant colors and the act of bringing imagination to life on a blank surface bring me immense joy. During the pandemic, I took this passion a step further and opened an Instagram account to share my artistic journey with a wider audience.

How would you describe the culture in your department?

The atmosphere within my team was incredibly supportive, with each member readily offering assistance and encouragement. I am grateful for the opportunity to have to expanded my knowledge and skills, as my colleagues shared their expertise willingly. In addition to our work responsibilities, we also prioritized bonding and relaxation through weekly team events. These gatherings provide a chance to unwind, engage in friendly competition and strengthen our bond.

 

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

Outside of work, I love to paint, indulging in my passion for creativity and self-expression. I value leisure activities that bring joy and relaxation, such as reading, spending time in nature and engaging in fitness activities. I find balance in my life by pursuing activities that both stimulate my mind and nourish my soul.

 

What TV show or movie are you currently enjoying?

I am a big fan of binge-watching various shows on Netflix, particularly those that blend drama and humour. I am currently watching Manifest. However, my ultimate go-to series is the timeless classic Friends, which holds a special place in my heart. Whether I need a good laugh or simply seek some light-hearted entertainment, I always rely on Friends to lift my spirits.

 

If you had to host a dinner party for FISPAN, what theme would you choose?

I would host a cultural-fusion themed party to celebrate the diverse backgrounds and talents within the company. This theme would blend elements from various cultures, reflecting the multicultural background of the team members and creating a unique and vibrant experience. The menu would feature fusion cuisine that combines flavors and ingredients from different traditions. Moreover, it would be a fun and memorable way to bring the FISPAN team together and celebrate their shared values of inclusivity and collaboration.
