“I enjoy working with clients to figure out what they need and how technology can transform their organization.” — Adam Alalouf

Adam Alalouf is a NetSuite Solution Architect at MorganFranklin Consulting and has served a diverse client base, including fintech, manufacturing, retail, restaurants, renewable energy, and logistics. His journey has been anything but conventional. With a prior background in music, performance, and literature, Adam shifted his focus to business & information systems and went on to pursue a degree in Management Information Systems (MIS). He has been delivering projects for over two decades.

“Consulting felt like a natural progression,” he explains, emphasizing how his background allows him to approach challenges from a creative angle. Today, he leverages his rich background to help clients understand how technology and solutions like NetSuite can streamline their operations.

Navigating Client Challenges in ERP Automation

Many clients struggle with disjointed processes when attempting to automate and connect their enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. “There’s no cut-and-paste method to support clients,” Adam shares. One of the common challenges revolves around manual workflows, especially when it comes to finance processes like payments. Clients often manually initiate payments through their bank, requiring separate and time-consuming processes to record the transaction in their ERP system. Even when clients adopt partial solutions, such as using Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) connections, these are often complex, leading to delays and confusions.

“Supporting clients in automating and connecting their ERP systems with their financial institutions is not a simple task. This is where FISPAN offers a valuable solution to a very common challenge.”

Given the diverse capabilities of his clients, Adam is dedicated to helping them navigate the complexities of automation and discover tailored solutions that effectively connect their ERP systems with financial institutions.

Overcoming Resistance in Change Management

Change management is another recurring theme in Adam’s work. As clients transition to new systems or implement new technologies, they are often resistant to change. Adam understands that adopting new technology isn’t always a straightforward process, especially when clients are resistant to change.

“Clients are understandably concerned about security,” Adam explains. “Their first question is often, Who is this third party and how are we trusting them to move our money?”

“When I explain how secure and efficient FISPAN is, it often sparks a lot of excitement, and I believe that’s largely due to my enthusiasm for it.” — Adam Alalouf

Understanding where the challenges in change management originates from is crucial for finding the right solutions. “With the right support and clear objectives, overcoming resistance is possible,” he remarked, highlighting the importance of commitment to the change process.

He recalls a previous project where the company had to learn new processes for running accounts payable (AP) from scratch. “It took a lot of time and hand-holding, but the project was one of the smoothest go-lives I’ve had,” he adds, noting that the success was due to the upfront effort in guiding the client through the transition.

Trends Shaping the Consulting Landscape

As the consulting industry evolves, Adam has been on top of the current trends. He pointed to the growing interest in artificial intelligence (AI) and the complexities surrounding cryptocurrency as areas of significant curiosity for clients.

“Everyone is curious about how AI can improve their business and create new revenue streams,” Adam notes. However, he points out that the full potential of AI is still largely untapped. For now, clients are exploring how AI can enhance efficiencies and drive innovation, but there’s still a lot to learn and implement as the technology matures.

Cryptocurrency, on the other hand, presents a more immediate challenge. NetSuite doesn’t currently support cryptocurrency, leaving clients unsure of how to handle it within their systems – a growing issue as more businesses venture into crypto. Adam has served several international clients in the cryptocurrency space, helping them navigate these complexities.

Why FISPAN is a Game-Changer for Financial Automation

Since discovering FISPAN at SuiteWorld in 2021, Adam has been a strong advocate of the solution.

“FISPAN is secure, fast, and reliable. It’s the latest generation of advancement in this space, taking the existing NetSuite architecture but just creating a bridge between that and your existing bank…I haven’t stopped talking about FISPAN since I first heard about it.”

— Adam Alalouf

Adam shares that FISPAN’s greatest benefits lie in its ability to seamlessly integrate with NetSuite and automate traditionally manual processes. “The speed at which FISPAN implements its solutions is a huge benefit. It doesn’t take long to get started, move through user acceptance testing, and go live, and it eliminates many back and forth cycles with the bank,” he notes. This efficiency not only streamlines financial operations but also allows clients to allocate resources to other important tasks.

The combination of secure bank connections, reliability, and flexibility makes FISPAN an indispensable tool in Adam’s consulting practice. Adam is looking forward to his upcoming net new NetSuite implementations with the FISPAN plug-in.

Adam is based in Philadelphia, PA, and spends part of the winter in Utah. He is dedicated to his daily gym and yoga routine, and enjoys painting, writing, and playing music.
